The internet has come a long way since it started. Nobody in the past could have thought the power it would have today. The internet has grown and revolutionized how people live; it had affected all fields of study and it aids people with different professions. No matter who you are or what you need, be it a CEO trying to find financial news or simply a janitor looking for other jobs, the internet is free for all and applicable to anybody who can access it.
Students are the popular users of this new media. But why is it so essential to them? The internet is so powerful that it can show multi-information in a matter of seconds. That would help them finish their work easily without having to sacrifice a lot of time. New information is also available in the net. In fact, the internet is more updated than most books are, Since students are more inclined to use the internet, many have put up sites specifically made for students and some publishers have offered online or E-books. But is it really good to hand that power to students?
The internet threatens the libraries to be rendered obsolete, it has destroyed good work and study ethics, basically throughout the years it has made students LAZY. Instead of doing thorough studies and research, students choose to copy & paste straight from the net. We should ask ourselves first, is it really okay to sacrifice good work and study habits for the ease and convenience of us students?

Selecta cornetto, better than everything?
The techniques used in this commercial to attract potential buyers is the comedy in their scene. Nowadays the catch phrase "HANGGANG SAAN AABOT ANG P20 MO?" is very popular. Selecta was able to imprint their commercials in peoples minds. Some people may view this commercial as shallow with no values at all shown. But to the masses it may portray as the "ultimate buy". Selecta has in a way embed the idea that cornetto is the smart choice instead of paying fully to get a haircut or buy an energy drink. It may be cheaper than those things but let's face it, it's more essential than ice cream. So they sent out negativity by implying that instead of saving money to get you haircut, go ahead and just buy a cornetto for their own profit.

TUGS TUGS TUGS TUGS :3
The scene of the commercial goes something like this, it starts of showing a cardboard sign that says: "HANGGANG SAAN AABOT ANG P20 MO?" Then there's this kid about to go inside a jam packed bar where there is a queue of people outside but instead of waiting, he bribes the bouncer with a 20 peso bill. Instead of letting the kid enter, he grabs his flash light and starts flickering it above the kid while giving a beat. So the kid starts dancing then a picture of a big selecta cornetto appears.
It appeals to me because it's very funny and catchy. Simply because the guy was stingy enough to bribe someone with 20 pesos and that someone decides to humor this kid. I think that's the reason why this commercial is very effective. It allows its viewers to remember it!
-- and let's face it! who hasn't seen or heard about this commercial? it was kind of a "thing" before. ;)
